Mythical creatures get their revenge

Bits-
In a post-apocalyptic future, man serves as common transportation to the mythical beast.

MooCow's:

The Narwhal and Platypus had it coming.

Tangles:

Week Five--Geisha Mercenary Pin-up challenge

Week five's theme is the first of our Back Row Bees pin-up challenges. This week's topic: Geisha mercenaries.

MooCow's:

I had a lot of fun ideas for sketches but alas, time constraints. I will probably post more on my own personal blog later...

Bits entry:

Here's some butt for you!

There are too many problems with this, wish i didn't draw in turquoise. One day I'll take this into photoshop, change the lines to black and paint it up again.
P.S.
This is my first "chicks with guns" type of drawing.

tangles:
3days late is better than never!!!! i figured i'd better put some extra time into this since i kinda crapped out on it this week! so, after not having painted (any larger than 5x5, anyway) in a very long time, i decided to go for it.

so there. ta DA.

she's 8"x24"-- acrylic on canvas........took me all freakin day.....haha

now to decide the next challenge- YIPE!

Week Four Challenge: Dreams!

This week's challenge was to draw an image or series of images from your dreams.

Moocow's Entry:

I decided to do a rough page featuring three recurring themes from the weird picture show in my brain...(sometimes talking) fish that swim above water, tornadoes, and flight.

And don't ask...

Entry: Tangles.

So I guess this is what is passing as a dream this week.....I truly did used to have dreams of a rhino chasing me up a tree.....and I don't know why. Actually, looking at the rhino--- he looks rather unsure himself. Hmm. I wonder how Freud would analyze this......I think I'd rather not know. To see the preliminary drawings I did for this one, check out my regular blog. :D

oh, and meet howard. he's kinda cute!

And as always- Hugbees!

Bits' Entry: A highschool dream that ought to be forgotten

Ever have one of those dreams where your teeth fall out? I didn't have time to include the fact we were at Disneyland, having just finished doing a Congo line

A digital quickie...Enjoy

#558- Benny TwentySquirrels
(with 13 pictured)

Benny's an interesting fellow. Having a psychic bond with his furry brethren helps to keep them close. Here we see Benny and his friend Harold having a "mind-off". Or maybe they're just trying to find out where the other 7 squirrels are.....

HUGBEES!

"Monsters Can Dream too"

This week's drawing challenge theme was "monsters can dream too." Here are my submissions:

Holy (moo)cow, traditional medium! I did this 1st piece with an ebony pencil and watercolors on bristol board (and roughed in the composition w/ a red col-erase)

LAZORSSSS!!!

Cheers!

The pacific northwest has long been the home of the illusive Sasquatch, or "Big Foot". What people don't know is that Sasquatch has dreams too. Tormented by years of blurry photos, and those he meets forgetting him almost instantly, Sasquatch chose to purge his emotions through a musical artform. In this case, it was Fantasy Metal. Singing of dragons, witches, elves, and hobbitts may seem strange coming from one many deem imaginary as well.....but the thought of flying away on the wings of a dragon is all he has in his dark cave. Rock on Sasquatch, Rock on.

rough sketch in prismacolor-- will become a painting:

4"x4" painting on canvas- bombay inks and gouache....ever so small...

Drawing Challenge #1

Entry: Tangles.

Film Noir. The Case of the Chinchilla. She walked into the room with a glint in her eye. I knew what she wanted. My Chinchilla. My Golden Chinchilla. I never realized how far she'd go to make it her own.........my mistake.

------> first attempt......it can only go up from here. :) woot. tangles.

Entry: MooCow.

She clung to me, hysterical with grief, outraged by her loss. Poor kid. She didn't seem to realize the world was changing, and for the worse. And there, with her there arms wrapped around me weeping and pleading for my help, all I could think was....what the hell is a chinchilla anyways?

Entry: Bits.
